Hi. Sending a picture of my VH-1´s I built in February 2003.
The cabinets are made of 19mm plywood, the sides are laminated with oak veneer.
The front is 10mm thick oak, the bottom plate massive oak with built-in rubber feet...

...If you wonder how they sound, I can only say that I am very satisfied, the bass is very ”solid” without coloration and with a fine response. The sound is outside the cabinets in a very fine way. The need for extra bass support is in my meaning unnecessary, even playing organ music they work very well.

Then he allows us to publish his email address, but we have chosen not to do so. We don´t think he likes being flooded by email in english.

If you are curious about how these speakers look, go to
http://www.valutronic.se/LSpic.html
and have a look at the Ingemar Hällström design.

We had some young people home for test listening our old VH-1´s from 1986.
Music: Hard rock, Queen, Mike Oldfield (Tubuar bells 2) et.c....
A few hours later this email came to us:

I must thank you for the listening once again =) shit-good (a very positive swedish slang expression!) sound, I must say. A couple of these will be built this summer.

And they sound fine! The VH-1´s and the Edison get along well.

Feels like yet another good bargain.

Just wanted to tell.

Best regards...

Hi, Stefan!

...is my name and I live in Hjo.
I have bought some loudspeaker kits from your before
(SUPER SATISFIED)...

...

Best regards...

...I, myself, has got a completely new dimension to this music thing, suddenly much, both classic and rock and especially techno, has become very enjoyable to listen to...

Hi!

I bought some time ago your loudspeaker kit and is very satisfied, now I wonder if it is possible to get in contact with......... about a few tips concerning his very succesful design?

Best regards...

........................

PS, I have built a pair of the straight VH-1´s (Now called VH-2) and is very pleased with the result...

... Now this has happened. The interest in listening to music has increased a lot in my family, especially among my teenage children, since the VH-1´s have been installed in our combined kitchen/living-room. They have shown to satisfy even the need for deep but fast bass and also openness and a lot of volume (they are sensitive) among the teenagers and their pals.

Hi!

About half a year ago I bought 8 of your kits on a pure guess, have assembled 6 of them.
– What a difference! They are driven by a tube amplifier mmmmmm sounds wonderful!

...............

Have a nice time, all audiophiles!!!

Best regards...

Earlier had some thoughts about the bass response of my VH-1´s. Breaking them in did the trick... I suspect however that the level of pleasure can be raised even further with another amplifier.
I wrote that I should test them with a buddy´s NAD, he has been here and listened...
his comment:

(Censured curse), here I have put 10.000 bucks (about 1200 USD) on Dynaudio elements and then you build supersound for the price of one dome speaker!
(He doesn´t get the bass right, there is a deep diffuse bass and then ”nothing” and then higher bass/lower midrange.

Hi!
Have built 2 pairs of voigt horns (so far) and is bewildered every time about how fine they sound... ... It sounds super-good according to my taste.

Hi,
Bought 5 kits some time ago & now need 3 more...

Hallo!

I am a completely happy & satisfied VH-1 owner & is contemplating about redeeming some aquaintances with a pair of MH-1´s. The unredeemed namely have lack of space & don´t get the most wanted redemption but it is anyhow lightyears from being stuck with broken Sanyo speakers from the -80´s swamp...

(And then a question about getting the loudspeakers directly from our premises)

Hi!
The sound got much better now that I got a NAD 3020 and a CD player of the same brand. Can´t exactly pin-point what it is that got better, but it is as if the ”screaminess” has disappeared alltogether. The sound is not ”tiresome” anymore.
I am really satisfied to 110% with the VH-1´s.

Happy greatings...

(Our comment: There are power amplifiers, often built around an integrated circuit, that have low internal bandwidth producing a sound which after half an hour or so might make you tired.)

First some words about a second-hand NAD he bougth, and then:

...One more thing that became very diffirent with the NAD amplifier is the bass. Now it sounds like it should. There is a lot of punch in it and it is solid. One of my pals was very impressed with it. This summer I will put the loudspekers on the terrace and invite (people) to music and milkshakes!

...The sound is fine and you hear details in music you haven´t heard before. I have a NAD C300 driving the speakers and it manages well, very easily driven speakers.
