HSV-1E is the no-compromise speaker kit for the VH-1 Voigt horn!
The
VH-1 was designed for
exactly these components.
(The
components are not just selected to fit into an already existing
design!)
The kit contains all electric parts you need for two cabinets (one stereo pair): The speaker drivers, crossover- and overload protection components, springloaded terminals and 10m (32´) cable. That is, what you see above.
The only things that you buy locally are the wooden parts, some glue, screws and damping felt, that is, the material you need for the cabinets.
The bass/midrange speaker has
precisely the right Qts value (1.00), resonance frequency,
active area and cone construction the VH-1 needs to give its best
performance. (There is also one more important feature, which in
german is ”Weitgehend einschwingungsfrei” -- We couldn´t find a
suitable english expression for this, but it means that if your
amplifier suddenly starts a tone, there is no start-up time. The
speaker reacts without any delay.) The speaker is break-up free
throughout its entire frequency range thanks to the cone material and
pressing pattern (both rings and bumps). After 3.5 kHz the
inductance of the speaker coil system (not the cone!) produces a
smooth frequency roll-off which is perfectly matched by the tweeter
connected in series with the high-quality MKT foil capacitor. No
series coil is used for the bass/midrange speaker because of its own
inductance exactly matching its frequency range.
The tweeter
has a high-end silk dome with wide angle dispertion and a powerful
ferrofluid magnet giving a crisp and pure, very enjoyable sound. (We
have tried several others, but so far haven´t found any with this
wonderfully clean sound.)
The capacitor is a high-quality
long-life capacitor which has no cross-over problems and is built to
lasts for decades at three times the power of these speakers.
We
also include an electronic, self-resetting overload protection
component. It is a kind of ”electronic fuse” that cuts the
current to the speaker at overload. When this happens, just turn down
the volume completely (or shut off the amplifier), and wait about 30
seconds before turning on again.
We also include 10 meters of core coded speaker cable, which you may cut in equal or non-equal parts, according to your own needs.
The cut-out for the
bass/midrange speaker should be 185mm, and for the tweeter 75mm.
To
make the connectors on the tweeter fit into the 75mm hole without
having to bend them, file to ”ears” on the hole:

Be
careful to make the ”ears” big enough, so that the tweeter´s
connections fit without any bending. (Otherwise they may break.)
The
loudspeaker power rating is 60W music power, 30 W RMS.
It might not seem very much, but
remember – these speakers are efficient. Most people (without
hearing problems) use about 80 dB of sound preassure for active music
listening. These speakers (using the original speaker elements)
produce 80dB at about 0.05W input!
30W=106dB= far too loud for
healthy listening. You risk damaging your hearing within minutes.
If you amplifier has a higher power output than 30 W RMS per channel, the overload protection component is important. If the amplifier power output is 30 W or less (per channel), the overload protection is not necessary. But if you change to an amplifier with higher power output later on, don´t forget to attach the protection. There is of course no guarantee covering overload damage.
We test all speakers before export and then pack the kits in a corrugated cardboard box, to make sure they arrive to you in perfect condition.
For the fibreboard parts, contact your local timberyard. Using the material list, they should be able to cut out the appropriate pieces out of 16mm (0.63´´) hard fibreboard in just a few minutes. And most shops that sell textiles also sell felt. You need about 1 square metre with 4-8 mm thickness for each cabinet.

1.
Using PayPal:
Just
email us your order and tell us you want to use Paypal. PayPal
accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, eChecks, Bank
transfers and (of course) PayPal balances.
DONT
make any payment until we have confirmed your order and sent you the
money request. That way, you can be certain to get your kit(s)
quickly after payment. Delivery time is between three days and two
weeks depending on where you live.
2.
Using bank transfer:
Email us your order and
tell us you want to use bank transfer. We will send you a pre-payment
invoice that you print out and bring to your bank for payment.
Delivery time is about three workdays longer than using PayPal, due
to the time for the transfer to be completed.
Send
your order by email to:
email@valutronic.se
State
number of HSV-1E kits you want, and your full address exactly as it
should be written on the address-label and invoice. (First name,
surname, street address, city, zip-code, state/country et.c.) Also
include your email address.
Contact
your bank and make the payment to: |
IMPORTANT:
We will only keep your kit(s) booked for one week. If you wait with
the payment, there is no guarantee that we can deliver your kit(s)
immediately. If payment reaches us more than one week after
confirmation of your order, we will still deliver, but delivery time
can be up to one month.
For your safety all speaker elements are individually tested by us (and re-packed in their original boxes) before delivery. The kits are then packed in corrugated cardboard boxes to avoid any damage during transportation. Also, we use the post office company for delivery. It is more expensive than some other ways of transportation, but more reliable. This way you can be certain that the speaker kits are in perfect condition when you receive them.
